'With a psychedelic sound conjuring imagery of summer and 7" records, The Lovely Days are creating a melody-driven soundscape that nods to superheroes like Tame Impala, ELO and Alabama Shakes, emanting musical vibes of the 60's and 70's' - AIR (Australian Independent Record Labels Association)

'Mixed by Eric J (Flume, Chet Faker, Flight Facilities), “Mornington” has the retro transplant qualities of Tame Impala, with psychedelic hazy guitar lines and spine-tingling harmonics. Vocalist Tennyson Nobel‘s striking falsetto glides over an infectious hook and shimmering, swirling layers' - BestBefore.com

'Arms Wide Open EP follows last year’s debut self-titled EP and stands as a polished, deeply welcoming and imaginative sonic adventure, jam-packed with old-school jangle-rock harmonic purity, all pulled together with an inescapably modern sensibility' - The Music.com (Australia)

'(Mornington) Combining brightly lit guitar tones with syncopated melodies and percussion so crisp it could deflect bullets, it’s a track which doesn’t simply pick and choose at what’s been done before, rather taking those foundations laid by the past and building a monumental structure upon them'  - hhhappy.com (Australia)

EP Premiere - Spill Magazine (Canada)

'Upbeat and with a message, the band carve out a defined and individual sound' - BeeHive Candy (US)

'The “all killer, no filler” phrase definitely applies to the EP...' - Im Music Magazine (US)

"Arms Wide Open is a new collection of songs about welcoming the power of possibility into your life. It explores hopefulness, vulnerability, openness and retreat; but learning how to deal with life’s uncertainty & that it doesn’t always go the way we plan.

We recorded it ourselves over ten days in two locations; firstly in a DIY style studio setup in a rehearsal room and then we polished it off at our drummer’s house.

I think this EP reflects different moments in my life where I’ve either been really open and ready for new experiences; or found myself consciously withdrawn and shut off from the world. I think everybody has been there before; both behaviours are equally as vital to each other." : Tennyson Nobel (Vocals/Keyboards)

"...The songs for our EP were all written after leaving home & moving to Melbourne. We’d grown up in this small town bubble our whole life so songwriting became our way of understanding our place in this new big city. We recorded it together in a few different locations, after starting in a big studio to then tracking in a small bedroom, we decided to polish it off in a lovely beach house down south. This ‘home-style’ of recording is definitely our favourite approach. Cooking breakfast together, going for beach swims.. There’s no better way to create..." : Tennyson Nobel (Lead Vox/Songwriter/Keyboards)
